Raghavendra Rathore, the designer best known for his signature stylish bandhgalas, has given shape to his dream project — The Gurukul School of Design (GSD) in Jaipur. The Gurukul School of Design is known as an institute that helps students adapt to the changing design needs of evolving society by nurturing and honing creative individuals to become design professionals of the future, providing them with world class education in combination with traditional values of self-awareness. GSD focuses on the evolution of aesthetics from a global standpoint while encouraging students to look inwardly, while imbibing the Gurukul way of learning.

Application & Admission Process

What is the Admission Process ?

Step 1 – Download the application form from the site url.
Step 2 – Fill the form and send via post or scan and email. (september 2019 onwards)
Step 3 – Home exam : make a creative self portrait in any medium and write a 500 word self essay about yourself.
Step 4 – Personal situation exam and interview to be held post clearance of home exam. (april 2020 onwards)
Step 5 – successful candidates will be intimated by email.

Scholarship Offerings

The “GSD Scholarship Program” aims to award scholarships to exceptional, highly motivated and deserving students in the areas of Academics/ Arts/ Design/ Leadership skills etc. These students should show great potential to further excel in their chosen disciplines.

Policy for GSD Scholarship Applicants:

  • Two types of GSD Scholarship’s will be available for students to apply for
    • Academic Cum Need Basis
    • Art Scholarship.
  • GSD Scholarship offerings to all applicants shall be based on their Merit cum Need OR Their outstanding performance in being rewarded for their art talent
  • The GSD Academic cum Need Basis Scholarship will be offered only for a maximum of two years, subject to completion of the Foundation Year.
  • The GSD Arts Scholarship will be offered only for a maximum of one year.
  • The GSD Academic cum Need Basis scholarship period shall be subject to an annual review and GSD reserves the right to withdraw a scholarship after the completion of the first scholarship year, if
  • A student’s performance and/or behaviour does not meet the expectations of GSD.
  • A students parents’ financial status is reviewed and found competent to fulfil the fees requirement.
  • The GSD Scholarships will be limited to 3 awardees under each category, per academic session.
  • A student can avail only one type of scholarship during the entire tenure of his/her program.
  • The student will have to pay the entire GSD Academic Fees for the rest of the years of the registered program.
