What is the eligibility for admission to the National Institute of Design?
Eligibility Criteria for B.Des. programs :
Upper Age Limit – Candidate must be of 30 years of age before 1st July on the date of application (relaxable for up to 3 years for reserved category)
Educational Qualification – Candidate should have passed from any recognized institute or university any of the following:
(Candidates completing a 10+3 technical diploma are no longer eligible for applying.)
Eligibility Criteria for M.Des. programs :

Which cities are host to the NID entrance exams?
DAT (Prelims) will be conducted in the Indian cities of Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Ranchi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Thiruvananthapuram, and Vijayawada. On the other hand, the DAT (Mains) are conducted in different NID campuses.
What is the expected cut off for the NID DAT Prelims 2022?
For the NID DAT exams, there is no fixed cut-off or passing score. Usually, NID shortlists candidates equalling to thrice the number of available seats for the DAT Mains. The cut-off marks are based on the performance of students in DAT Prelims that year.
The cut-off for the NID DAT Prelims is expected to be lower in 2019 by at least 5 marks. This is primarily because the weightage for subjective section was 70 percent in 2019 as compared to 2016, 2017, and 2018.

Gandhinagar campus: Hostel accommodation is available for students for the M.Des. course from Semester 1 to 4.

Vijayawada / Kurukshetra / Bhopal / Jorhat campus: Hostel accommodation is available for all Graduate Diploma Program in Design (GDPD) students.
