The entrance exam pattern is as follows :

Section 1 (A) Non-Verbal ability (colors and their usage)
Section 1 (B) Tests maths and theoretical understanding on engineering design
Section 2 Tests the student’s ability to solve fairly real life, creative problems related to practical design

The Reservation in Seats is as follows :

  • The Institute accepts about 400 students every year
  • This number includes about 50 sponsored candidates and faculty members from engineering colleges under the Quality Improvement
  • Programme (the Defence Services, Indian Space Research Organization, NTRO, BARC, NAL, CPRI, KSRTC, BMTC, PWD and BDA)
    25 seats are reserved for Product Design Students

  • Separate hostel blocks for boys and girls
  • The hostel blocks together can house about 3000+ students
  • Limited accomodation for married students and families is also available
  • Four different mess facilities are available
